The first version of the editor, released in January 2008, was adapted to work only under Windows. But starting from the second (the final version of which was released in June 2012), the program became available to users of the operating systems OS X and Linux. Thus, with the release of the second version, Sublime Text becomes cross-platform software.
In total, now 3 versions of this program have been released. The final (third) version of Sublime Text was published on September 13, 2017. Each version was different from the previous functional innovations. Moreover, developers are constantly improving their product by releasing updates.
Sublime Text supports about 50 programming languages, which is already pleasant for users who have mastered several languages. It has a customizable interface, plug-in installation function, supports working with Pithon macros. And allows you to work with catalogs and a huge amount of information in general. For quick search of the necessary fragments of files there is a convenient search system with the ability to specify various search criteria. A rather convenient function is the assignment of “hot keys”. By customizing their combinations for yourself, you can comfortably work from different workstations with different operating systems. There is a built-in function for highlighting the code for easy reading.
In general, a convenient editor in the style of minimalism, which boasts a decent speed and a large set of syntax libraries.
Sublime Text is a shareware utility. Therefore, you can get acquainted with it free. At the same time, during the familiarization period, the functional of the program has no limitations. However, the dev version (to expand the capabilities) of the program is available only to registered users.
